Mr. Peter Mbugua, CEO and Hon. Sospeter Ojaamong, Governor Busia County signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing a strategic partnership where 28 villages in the county will receive electricity.
Under the collaborative framework, the county government has contributed Sh55.5million while REA will match the contribution with Sh5 million per sub county.
The villages to benefit in this project are Bulako in Mayenje ward, Kakapel and Kekalet (Angurai South Ward), Burunmba A,B &C in Burumba, Bosnia, Omoloi &Apegei( Chakol North), Masiebi &Ichwili ( Matayos South), Ekondohera ( Nambale Township), Bukani (Namboboto/Nambuku), Kolanya (Angurai East), Namisi & Bukayoro (Bukhayo Central).
Others are Matiri (Bulhayo East), Makhoma ( Bunyala South), Rudachu (Bunyala West), Osuga,Namukuro (Busibwabo), Orobi (Bwiri), Nanyungu (Marachi East), Manyenya (Marachi North), Mulukhoba &Namakori (Bunyala North and Mukhweso ( Elugulu).
